We don’t know much about who this astronaut was or what happened to him exactly. And the only evidence that survives are four coins, and they can be dated back to 15,000BC.
What we do know is that he was a Greek and his name was Karfitsafallos. We don’t know much about Karfitsafallos, other than that he is the first man to go to moon back in 15,000BC. He was a space traveler and may just be the walking testament of how we were made to love exploration.
Karfitsafallos was probably 9 and the king of Karfitou. His vast, near-forever empire was already under siege from superhumans across the world. After years of delicate diplomacy, family tragedies, and strategic campaigning – in 15,000 BC he finally launches himself into space, in a bold attempt to escape this worsening war.
He designed an oxygen-powered spaceship called Karfitsafallos 1000 which travelled to the moon and back, it wasn’t all smooth sailing because upon re-entry he got to 140km in altitude before it exploded. He crashes through the planet’s atmosphere in a surprisingly survivable way – he arrives alive on the other side of the battlezone. Proving his tactical gifts as well as his legendary political acumen with one bold stroke.
“Karfitsafallos: The First Man on the Moon!” is a novel by Sophie B. Jones that is based on the ancient Greek astronaut and his famous moon mission.
There are many tales throughout the years that talk about voyagers and people that reached a place before we did, such as Christopher Columbus and Benjamin Franklin with their distant expeditions to other kingdoms. While there have been many stories with protagonists taking trips to outer worlds, this one is different than any of them because it has an insight into our beginnings.
So Karfitsafallos is not just a good story to tell – He is the first man on the moon, long before NASA!
